Forest Park Matchboxes
I created these vintage style matchbooks to commemorate some of my favorite pastimes in Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri. I have a love for vintage matchbooks/matchboxes and, of course, for my hometown; these passions came together in this quarantine project. The Forest Park landmarks on my matchboxes include the STL Art Museum, Grand Basin, Jewel Box, and Zoo.
Process
The first step of this project was to choose which Forest Park landmarks I wanted to illustrate. Researching matchbook sizes and best layouts was next. Then, I utilized my sketches within the project. The last step was to create slogans for the back of my matchbooks and a fleur de lis for my Forest Park mark.
