Science Exhibit & App

The brief for this junior year project at University of Missouri—St. Louis was to create a science exhibit for the Saint Louis Science Center. Bioluminescence is a beautiful process, so I chose to explore this for my exhibit. The second half of this project was to create an accompanying experience; I created an app for the Science Center and an interactive learning extension for the exhibit within the app. This exhibit will illuminate you to the world of bioluminescent creatures!

Exhibit Design

I wanted to create an illustrative exhibit that would allow children who cannot yet read to still engage. The slightly cartoonish animal illustrations were created to be kid friendly while still maintaining accuracy—that anglerfish sure is a spooky animal! Creating a clear type hierarchy was key for legibility exhibit flow.

Science Center App

The second half of the project was to create an accompaniment to the exhibit. I wanted to create an interactive part to the exhibit through an app. Knowing that people don't like to download single use apps, I decided to create a digital learning extension to the exhibit as part of an app for the Saint Louis Science Center.
